Video Activities

One of the activities my students enjoyed over the past 2 years was writing scripts for mysteries after reading one. Students work in groups and each group produces its own myster. Then students act out their mysteries on the school stage or make it into a movie. Some of the plays and movies turn out to be great with well- integrated visual and sound effects.
I couldn't upload all movies to You Tube because of their sizes. But this is a link to one of the movies that I could upload:

Dear Faten,
I was surprised to see your mark for the final. I know you can do better, but still your term mark was good. I don't remember that you took any bonus marks. I didn't find it recorded in my book. If you think there is a mistake, please talk to me or e mail me. It is better to contact me by e mail when you have a special request, not on this blog.

I really like this activity, since it motivates students to think and gives them the chance to practice language at the same time when acting at the end. Also, it encourages cooperative learning and enhances communication between students to create a positive climate.

working together in groups especially if it is based on cooperative learning as you did with your students, each group produces their script of mystery, they will be motivated to be on task and will engage totally on what they have working on. so, group work increases the academic success and will motivate your students to achieve more and more.

One of the major reasons that motivated me to teach was " teaching in different methods " .For my belief that an image , a sound , a research can even deliver the message stronger than a word .

Making students work in groups is really interesting and motivating. It helps them get engaged and work as a team. How special your activity was especially when they acted out what they prepared. I can imagine how much fun all of you had during this activity
